An Ottawa, Kansas woman faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and battery following a police investigation. Officers responded to a residence on the 800 block of North Mulberry Street at about 4:10 yesterday afternoon,October 3rd, after a 911 call was made to the Franklin County Emergency Communications Center. The caller provided little information and then disconnected from the dispatcher.
Upon arrival at that address, officers discovered a 65-year-old Ottawa man in distress. After an investigation, 59-year-old Lynette Russell was booked in the Franklin County Jail on charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated battery. No further information was provided. The Ottawa Police department worked with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office throughout the investigation. Ottawa Police Chief, Adam Weingartner urges anyone with relevant information about the incident to contact them immediately.
