Records were made to be broken and the latest is for the biggest pumpkin grown in the United States, and…the world. A pumpkin weighing in at 2,749 pounds was grown in Minnesota this year and has set the record for the heaviest ever. It was entered in the Great Pumpkin Farm Festival outside Buffalo, and the grower, Travis Gienger nicknamed it Michael Jordan. It broke the previous record by 47 pounds, by a grower in Italy in 2021. Gienger received a $30,000 prize for the new world record.

The Kansas state record looks puny in comparison. It was recorded last year at the Kansas State Fair at 1,280 pounds. This year the biggest at the fair was 1,233 pounds.
