There have been several recent blackouts in various parts of Ottawa…….mostly caused by tree limbs falling on electric lines. Ottawa City Commissioner, Zach Clayton says better communication is needed with customers about blackouts:
City officials say they will look at ways of getting information out faster to the public about blackouts. By the way, yesterday’s power outage was caused by wind. Tree branches came down at 3rd and Cherry collapsing the power lines. The outage was for about 45 minutes and affected most of the downtown and business community. If you lose power, the city asks that you call 785-229-3750 to report the outage.
