Saturday, October 21st, was a day of celebration as the Osawatomie Art Commission, Osawatomie City Council, and others, gathered downtown to officially dedicate the latest mural during the Third Saturday’s Block Party. Artist Alex Eickhoff was on hand to join in the fun and answered questions about his process and inspiration.
The city of Osawatomie and the Osawatomie Arts Commission would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Allen W. and Gladys Hawkins Foundation for the generous contribution to the community’s public art and culture. The funding made possible three murals, including Lynnsey Fletcher’s “Bee the Good” at the North 8th St. Levee, Billy Peters’ “Tin Can Kids” at the South 6th St. Levee, and his latest addition inside Main Street Plaza at 530 Main Street.
