The growing issue with the drug fentanyl rose its ugly head in Ottawa again yesterday, October 26th. The Ottawa Police Department and Franklin County EMS were called to the 1300 block of South Beech on the report of an overdose. Once on scene, they found a person unresponsive. Police Chief Adam Weingartner credits narcan for saving the person’s life. That person was transported to AdventHealth Ottawa for treatment and was released later in the day. Weingartner on the dangers of fentanyl:
The Ottawa police executed a search warrant along with the Franklin County Drug Enforcement Unit for drug evidence and will forward a report to the Franklin County Attorney’s Office for review.
