In Miami County, besides individual race for City Council and school boards, Miami County is proposing a new quarter-cent sales tax to pay for the renovation, repair and expansion of the historic Miami County Courthouse in Paola. Paola USD 368 is proposing a $40 million school bond that would fund a variety of projects at each of the school district’s buildings.
The city of Osawatomie is proposing the renewal of a quarter-cent sales tax for public safety equipment. The sales tax initially was approved in 2018 and funded the purchase of a firetruck for the fire department and municipal court software for the police department. The tax would be extended through 2036. Let your voice be heard. Vote!
