You always hear that your vote matters and in the case of City Commissioners receiving a four year term or a two year term, it mattered in the Ottawa City Commission race. A number of races and terms in office were finalized following the Franklin County Canvass of the 2023 Election. County Clerk Janet Paddock spelled out some results of the Ottawa City Commission races.
Paddock says voter turnout was somewhat higher than she expected at 16%. Still, that means that 84% of registered voters in the County did not let their voice be heard, something both candidates and election officials would like to see improve dramatically in future elections.
