With the first snow of the winter season, you expect some accidents. Fortunately, the county only saw three. One of those sent a Berryton woman to the hospital. Sunday morning, at the 2200 block of K-33 in Wellsville, 32 year old Ronald Kelly of Berryton was driving too fast for road conditions, causing him to slide through a stop sign and into the intersection. A car driven by 48 year old Robert Swindell of Ottawa, struck Kelly’s vehicle. A 31 year old passenger in Kelly’s car was taken to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Kelly was cited for going to fast for existing conditions and Swindell cited for driving while suspended, illegal registration and no insurance. Also, that night, just after 10:20 PM, 20 year old Jared Ferguson of Wellsville, was eastbound in the 1300 block of 15th Street in Ottawa when he lost control due to snowy conditions, causing his vehicle to roll and strike a guardrail. No injuries, but the vehicle was a total loss. And just after 10:30 PM that night, a vehicle driven by 20 year old Colton Seely, of Ottawa left the road in the 4400 block of K-68 due to snowy conditions and rolled on it’s side. No injuries reported.
