A group in Ottawa led by Angie Malik is attempting to raise money to install a Safe Haven Baby Box at the Ottawa Fire Department. It provides a way for a mother, out of options, to give up her baby legally and anonymously in the climate controlled box that would alert staff at the fire department when the box is opened. Some may be wondering….what if the mother changes her mind, or her situation improves? Can she get the baby back. Safe Haven Baby Box founder Monica Kelsey:
