Ariel Jankord is the new principal at Lincoln Elementary in Ottawa, and she is deeply involved in all aspects of students lives at her school. During a school tour for the Ottawa School Board, Jankord says she has already seen drastic changes.
Jankord says when she first came to Lincoln, she was shocked at how children were running to cars and buses after dismissal. Citing a fatal accident at a previous school where she worked, she set about organizing dismissal time and now when children depart for home, it is much safer and faster.
