Preliminary estimates reported by the Kansas Department of Labor and the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 2.9% in October. This is an increase from 2.8% in September and a decrease from 3.0% in October 2022. Labor Economist, Emily Dierksen:

Seasonally adjusted job estimates for Kansas indicate total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 3,200 from September. Total nonfarm includes private sector and government employers. Private sector jobs increased by 2,400 over the month, while government increased by 800.
