If you are out on the south end of town, you may see a new structure tower over the landscape soon. A new water tower is being built in the north east corner of Proximity Park and Utilities Director, Dan Riney says once complete, it will replace two other iconic towers in town:
Riney says you should notice the water tower rising into the sky by February. The new tank will hold 500,000 gallons of water. The old tanks on 15th Street and on Dundee Street are 400,000 gallons each and were built nearly 70 years ago, in 1954.
