The latest compensation study conducted by the Ottawa City Commission is aimed at hiring and keeping the best employees. The Commission received some recommendations from a compensation consultant, who told the commission that a large number of employees are not getting the pay that current market conditions demand. City Attorney Blaine Finch says the city has to keep current with wage demands.
The commission has adopted some of the recommendations, while other suggestions will get further study.
