An accident on I-70 near Topeka yesterday morning sent an Ottawa man to the hospital. About 8:15 yesterday morning, December 14th, 53-year-old Michael Ford of Ottawa, was driving a box truck west on I-70 when the vehicle left the roadway to the right, overcorrected and hit a semi truck driven by 41-year-old Benjamin Morgan from Saint Charles, Missouri. The box truck then overturned coming to rest on it’s side.
Ford was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash. Morgan was not injured. The crash is still under investigation by the highway patrol. They report that both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
