The Ottawa library revealed the 2024 “O-Town Reads” book this morning, and the book is…..”The hundred years of Lenni and Margot”, by Marianne Cronin. The book is about two terminally ill patients. Lenny, who is 17, and Margot, who is 83. The two become friends and realize they have lived 100 years combined. To celebrate their shared century they decide to paint their life stories…of growing old and staying young, of giving joy, receiving kindness, of losing love, and of finding the person who is everything. Through Margot’s artwork, Lenny records the stories of Margot’s life with each picture she creates. As their friendship deepens, it becomes clear that life is not done with the two of them yet. The story alternates between Lenni’s and Margot’s viewpoints and uses flashbacks to explore their memories.
