The Scipio Supper Club has been a staple in Anderson County for, it seems, forever. When former owners, Traci and Josh Burkdoll, who bought the place from long timer owner Janet Alexander in 2022, just before her passing, decided to sell the club, it answered a calling for an area woman.
Tammy Harabin, who had been working at restaurants and bars her whole adult life, saw a chance to call a place her own. She says she tried to ignore the urge to buy it for several weeks, but, her heart gave in. Haribin says she doesn’t want any changes she may eventually make, to dilute long time owner Janet Alexander’s legacy of connections with local business and charity endeavors, but wants to add a special touch with promotions for football games, Christmas parties, birthday parties, live music and a few surprises she won’t let out of the bag just yet. One big thing is, she plans on a new sign off 59 highway that grabs peoples attention and they don’t just drive by and miss out.
