Every year the Rockwood Acres Neighborhood on East 15th, spends Christmas Eve out on the streets setting up thousands of luminarias that line the streets and driveways of the area. They invite the community to come out and drive through and enjoy the warm glow of the soft light. They also use it as a fundraiser for specific causes in town. Organizer, Liza Jaworski, says it’s a tradition dating back several decades:
She added that community elves would be at the exit of Rockwood Acres taking donations for the Safe Haven Baby Box, the Blessing Box Foundation and the Franklin County Cancer Foundation. They will be open starting at 6:00 Sunday night. Dim your lights and slowly drive through Rockwood Acres neighborhood with your friends and family Sunday night and enjoy the beautiful ambiance and glow of the holiday season.
