Governor Laura Kelly is stepping up her drive to get Medicaid expanded in the upcoming Kansas Legislative Session. She recently unveiled the “Cutting Healthcare Costs for All Kansans Act” to expand Medicaid to nearly 150,000 Kansans at no cost to the state taxpayers. She also has made a point to get the word out to the people that if it is not passed this year, all the seats in the Kansas house held by Republicans are up for re-election in 2024.

All but 10 states have expanded Medicaid. Kelly says 90% of the cost is covered by the Federal Government and the other 10% covered by drug rebates, a hospital fee and other sources.
