“Kansas farm boy turned city superhero”: it’s a familiar fictional tale, but for technician Travis Reekie, it’s his day-to-day job. That’s how Fleet Maintenance Magazine describes city of Ottawa mechanical technician, Travis Reekie. He has won the prestigious magazine’s “Jack Of All Makes” award.
Reekie maintains the entire city’s municipal fleet, then heads home to tend to a 300-acre farm. This includes maintaining equipment there, too. He will be honored at today’s Ottawa City Commission meeting. It will begin at 4:00 this afternoon, January 17th, at City Hall and will be live streamed on the city of Ottawa’s facebook page
