Yesterday, January 16th, first responders were called to the 4300 block of K-68 highway near Wellsville on the report of a structure fire. Fire crews from Northwest Fire, Wellsville, Willow Springs, plus the Ottawa Fire Department Air Trailer responded. Upon arrival, they found a barn fully engulfed in flame. The barn was owned by 35-year-old Jessica Hale, of Wellsville. Firefighters battled the flames in a defensive mode, and it was brought under control within 30 minutes. However, the barn and it’s contents were a total loss. There was no damage estimate given or information on what may have been in the barn. No injuries were reported.
