When Ottawa Fire Chief, Tim Mathias began his career 33 years ago, he had dreams. Being a firefighter was something he had wanted to do since he was a little kid. Mathias retired in December. On his last day on the job he told the Ottawa City Commission he was thankful for his family and those he worked with, and one other:
