Ottawa University’s Transgender Policy has come under fire from the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka. Six members of the church held up signs condemning homosexuality while standing on the corner of 9th and South Cedar, across the street from college property. Shirley Phelps-Roper says the Nation is under a curse.
Ottawa University says it was not intentional to allow a transgender man, who now claims he’s a woman, to play on the women’s volleyball team. The incident violated a new state law called the Kansas Fairness in Women’s Sports Act that allows only biologically born females to participate in women’s sports.
