A lengthy discussion about how doctors are reimbursed for their services took up a good part of the regular Ransom Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees meeting. Officials from AdventHealth Ottawa also attend each meeting. Patron Carla Griffith was asking questions about payment rates and doctor Ken Frank, a local ophthalmologist, who is also a member of the Board of Trustees, interjected with his answer:
Each year the hospital devotes a certain amount of money for charity care for people who are uninsured or cannot pay for their medical services.
