At the Franklin County Commission meeting Wednesday, February 7th, County Administrator Derek Brown commented on the great numbers of county employees that are sick. He didn’t mention a specific illness, but, flu is the likely villain. Franklin County Health Department nurse practitioner Susan Moor says it’s very important to get vaccinated against the flu:
The latest word from the Center for Disease Control is that there have been at least 20 million cases of the flu reported, with 230,000 hospitalizations and 14,000 deaths attributed to influenza so far this year.
