The idea of imposing a Transient Guest Tax for the city of Ottawa ran into some opposition during the regular City Commission meeting. Commissioner Eric Crowley says the idea of a possible 9% tax really concerns him:
Ottawa Mayor Mike Skidmore also had some reservations about the tax. Discussions of the issue are expected over the next few weeks. Franklin County currently has its own 6% guest tax.
