The second Legislative Coffee was held Saturday, February 17th, at Ottawa City Hall. 59th District Representative Rebecca Schmoe told the audience there were two bills in the legislature that directly affect Ottawa citizens and businesses:
Schmoe added that another major topic in the legislature is school funding and how the money is distributed. Also, discussion of the tax bill that was vetoed by Governor Kelly a couple weeks ago, and how both houses of the legislature are hoping to overturn that veto in the upcoming weeks. The bill involves a single individual income tax rate.
