The Ottawa City Commission made a rather minor change to the new chicken ordinance during its regular meeting. After some discussion, Commissioner Eric Crowley wanted to change a provision that said chickens cannot be closer than 50 feet to any house, but dropping the words “ or other building.”
The commission has noted that the chicken ordinance is still a work in progress, and other adjustments can be made as needed.
