The three members of the Anderson County Emergency Services teams that helped treat gunshot victims at the Chief Super Bowl Victory rally a couple weeks ago, were informally recognized at the Garnett City Commission meeting Tuesday night, February 27. Commissioner Nate Weil gave thanks:

Anderson County EMS Director Troy Armstrong, EMT Sherry Schmitz and Registered Nurse Suzi Stykes with Saint Luke’s Health System, were part of a team that was stationed close to the crowd, due to their stretcher mounted ATV, which would be used to transport patients out to waiting ambulances on the perimeter. Armstrong says after the shooting stopped, they jumped into action and transported three patients, two critical and one serious, ages between 16 and 47.
