The Presidential Preference Primary was held yesterday in Kansas, and as expected, voter turnout was very low. Franklin County Clerk Janet Paddock reported that only 6.89% of registered Democrats cast their vote, while 10.41% of Republicans voted. Overall, turnout was only 6.89%.

Of those voting Democrat, President Joe Biden received over 78% of votes, while Marianne Williamson garnered only slightly more than 4% of the Franklin County vote, Dean Phillips with 2% and Jason Michael Palmer at just over 1%. Over 13% voted for none of the names on the ballot. On the Republican side, just over 78% voted for Donald Trump, and Nikki Haley garnered 13% of the vote. Ron Desantis at just under 3%, Ryan Binkley at half a percent and slightly over 5% voted for none of the Republican candidates on the ballot. The results will be Canvassed by the Franklin County Commission.

Statewide, Biden won the state , taking 101 counties with 83.8%. Marianne Williamson with 3% and 10% of the vote went to those voting for none of the candidates. On the Republican side, Donald Trump took all 105 counties with 81% of the vote, Nikki Haley with 11%.
