This is National Poison Prevention Week. Ninety percent of all poisonings happen in the home and one of the biggest fear is children getting into medicines, maybe thinking it is candy. John Adamson, from the Poison Control Center says one common medicine is responsible for a lot of poisonings:

He urges parents and grandparents to keep all medication locked up, where no child can get to it. Also, keep the poison center hotline number poste on your refrigerator and programmed into your phone. That number is 1- 800-222-12-22. If you think someone may have taken something they shouldn’t have, don’t hesitate, call right away. Fast and free expert help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
