Now that Franklin County is about to do the first four miles of the widening of Old 50 Highway, county officials are relieved that so far the work is costing much less than first expected. County Administrator Derek Brown says there’s one commissioner that has been helpful:
Renovating the first four miles of Old 50 came in at around $2.3 million, over a million dollars under original estimates.
