A road construction update from the city of Osawatomie. Utility construction in the 6th Street reconstruction project has advanced north of Main Street! Contractors are working on replacing and relocating water lines throughout the corridor ahead of street construction activities that have started at the southern end of the project. Officials say that side streets and intersections may be impacted by temporary closures. Also, a reminder that both lanes of traffic are still closed between Kelly Avenue and the Levee.
As was previously announced, after this first portion of construction is completed, city staff and contractors plan to keep southbound traffic open at all times for the duration of the project though the available lane may alternate, depending on work being performed. They also asks that motorists please pay close attention to route signage, cones, and work zone speed limits!
