Inflation, according to the latest government report, is a problem and it isn’t budging. Consumer prices were 3.5% higher in March than they were a year ago – inching upwards slightly, and coming in slightly higher than expectations. Shelter and gas are two areas that recorded higher prices, but prices for most other goods continue to rise. However, some prices on certain products have lowered. Meanwhile, the price of gas continues to rise, putting even more pressure on prices of goods and services. Economic officials say bringing the price of gas down would ease the cost of everything that U.S. consumers depend on.
