U. S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Kansas State Director, Christy Davis, has announced nearly $2 million in investments in renewable energy and efficiency projects to lower costs, generate new income and create jobs for Kansas farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses. One of those businesses is in Baldwin City. Clark Repair of Baldwin will receive $26, 659 to help install a 14.08 kilowatt solar renewable energy system. The project is expected to replace 20,697 kilowatt hours per year, enough to power two homes and save the company $2,697 per year in electrical costs.

Director Christy says the USDA is committed to ensuring rural Kansas is benefitting from the clean energy economy and the investments will expand access to renewable energy while creating good paying jobs and saving Kansas communities and businesses money
