When USD 288, Central Heights, decided to hire a Student Resource Officer last year, they knew they were taking a chance. They had an emphasis on keeping all students safe and secure, but a district with limited resources such as theirs, was taking a chance. Superintendent Nathan Hinrichs says they made the perfect choice in hiring:
