When USD 288, Central Heights, decided to hire a Student Resource Officer last year, they knew they were taking a chance. They had an emphasis on keeping all students safe and secure, but a district with limited resources such as theirs, was taking a chance. Superintendent Nathan Hinrichs says they made the perfect choice in hiring:
He adds that Deputy Jesse Vega also reports to the School Board every month and has come up with some very innovative programs at the school and is very proactive with the entire school district.
