If you live on or near that Franklin/Douglas County line, a meeting tonight may be of interest to you. The Douglas County Commission will be voting on Industrial Wind Turbine Setback Regulations at their meeting today. As of now, the regulations are set at 1500 feet from the county line. Commissioners will decide tonight if that setback should be moved to 2,500 feet from the county line and non participant property lines.
The meeting will be held at 5:30 at the Public Works Building in Lawrence. You can join the meeting by zoom. Go to the Douglas County Kansas website and look for the link to join the meeting.
