Recently a group of Ottawans attended the Homeless Coalition Conference in Lawrence. Brett Staneslow was one of those people attending. He says the speakers presented many ideas that could help in Ottawa. One item that caught his attention was the concept of actually helping with donations of cash or goods to local organizations, attempting to help the homeless or those in need, such as the Blessing Box, Hope House, Harvesters Food Distribution, and others. But, not everyone can give, but Staneslow says there is one thing that is most valuable and everyone can give:
There are many organizations in town that help, not only the homeless, but anyone in need. If you would like to help, give them a call, or stop by and ask what you can do to help. Give us a call at KOFO if you need any phone numbers or ideas on where you can donate your time.
