Some good news for the Garnett Police Department recently. Senator Jerry Moran, the ranking member on the U. S. Senate Commerce Justice and Science Committee, which funds law enforcement projects and grants, helped the Garnett Police Department secure funding of about $114,000 for in-car camera systems and laptop computers designed for patrol cars. The new equipment will work with the existing hardware and software that the department is currently using. The grant fully funded the purchase price of the project and will advance the Garnett Police Department’s collective goal of further increasing transparency and accountability, support all the officers, while protecting all the citizens of the Garnett community.
Also, back in March, Sargent Tiede attended the Command Leadership Institute. It’s focus is to provide real-life, contemporary, best practice strategies and techniques for those inspiring to command level positions, dealing with problem employees, and leading change within an organization.
