A vehicle pursuit that started in Osage County and ended in rural Franklin County, put two people from Wichita in jail. Wednesday night, May 29th, just before 10:30, an Osage County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted a traffic stop at mile marker 165 on I-35. The vehicle fled and a pursuit initiated. The vehicle exited the highway and traveled through Williamsburg, where Franklin County Deputies came to assist. Tire deflating devices were successful and the vehicle came to a stop near Rock Creek and Delaware Roads in Franklin County. The driver, 42-year-old Carlos Gonzalas was arrested and charged with fleeing and eluding by engaging in reckless driving, diving with a suspended license, an arrest warrant elsewhere and three counts of aggravated endangerment of a child, as three kids were in the car, also. Forty three-year-old Mary Walker was charged with interference with law enforcement and for a warrant elsewhere.
The two were taken to the Osage County Jail. Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells thanked the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
