AdventHealth Ottawa volunteers were honored recently. The volunteer program also celebrated 90 years of service to the hospital. Advent says they believe volunteers, past and present, are, and should be, very proud of the volunteer program and the many things it does for the hospital. Those honored include Sharon Cook and Kelly Smith with 50 hours. Bequi Hicks and Debi Payeut with 500 hours. Cathy Brown and Connie Jacobs with 1,000 hours. Linda Sink with 2,000 hours, and Anna May Doles and Beth Keim for 5 years of volunteering.
The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Linda Jensen. Jensen began volunteering in 2010 and has over 3,400 hours in the past 13 years. She has served in various capacities on the volunteer board, and currently works in ambulatory surgery and serves as a member of the Patient and Family Experience Council. She is well known for the goodies she brings when she volunteers in ambulatory surgery on Tuesday’s and for zipping around town in a classic red corvette!
