There are plenty of jobs available in the Ottawa and Franklin County area, but with the unemployment rate at only 2.7%, Franklin County Development Council Director Paul Bean says we just simply don’t have enough people. He says we have to tap into the potential workforce that graduates from area high schools and colleges, by using the new Apprenticeship Program from the Kansas Department of Commerce. He lists some of the advantages:
The goal of the Apprenticeship Program is to show potential employees there are good paying careers right here in the Ottawa area and they don’t have to move somewhere else to find a good career.
