As warm weather sets in, more and more people are out and about enjoying the outdoors. Some, out late at night, and not always for the good. This is the time of year that people need to be very concerned about crimes of opportunity and property theft. There are some things you can do to help prevent becoming a victim. One of those is called “the 9 pm routine”. Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner explains:
Police say that if you live between the north and south city limits and the east and west city limits, you should lock your car. Another important thing, don’t leave guns in the car or valuable in sight and, report anything suspicious to police immediately. If you see something, say something.
