Missouri’s Governor has vowed to put up a fight in the bid for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals to stay in the Show-Me State. Governor Mike Parsons says that he will counter whatever the state of Kansas brings to the table in the bid for the future of the Chiefs and Royals Stadiums before he leaves office. That includes discussions of Star Bonds:
With contracts not expiring until 2031, Parson said there is still time left to put a deal together, even after Jackson County voters disapproved of a move to increase tax rates to keep both teams and renovate or move stadiums. The Kansas legislature convene this morning, June 18th, in a Special Session to first approve a tax relief bill, then talks of Stadium Star Bonds will be discussed to try to lure the Chiefs and Royals to Kansas.
