Ottawa city officials say they were alerted by several people that a door to door salesman was going through town, attempting to sell individuals solar panel set-ups for their home, through a partnership with the city of Ottawa. The city says that they do not have a partnership with this person and it is a scam. They advise everyone that all door-to-door solicitors are required to have a license from the city of Ottawa. If someone comes to your door trying to sell you anything, ask them to see their license. Get a good look at it to make sure. If they can’t produce it, kindly inform them you are not interested without a license. They also ask that if someone comes to the door without a permit, immediately call the city to report it. Don’t be the victim of a scam and lose your hard earned money. Any door-to-door solicitor in the city of Ottawa is required to have the license and carry it on them while out soliciting.
