A man from Lane ended up in the hospital after an accident yesterday morning, June 20th. Just after 6:30, 22-year-old Trey Gipson was driving his semi truck southbound in the 2100 block of Vermont Road, near Rantoul, when he made a left turn onto Jackson Road. Due to foggy conditions, Gibson did not see a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by 53-year-old Troy Puckett, of Lane, that was traveling northbound. The Jeep struck the Kenworth in the intersection. Puckett was transported to the hospital by ambulance for injuries he sustained in the crash. Gipson was uninjured. Both vehicles were estimated to be total losses.
