Brown recluse spiders, one of the only dangerously venomous spiders in Kansas, are being seen more and more in and around homes and other structures due to recent warm weather. K-State Extension Entomologist, Jeff Whitworth, tells us where they are most likely to be found in your house and provides a comprehensive overview on brown recluses.
He adds that putting out spider traps will help in reducing the number of spiders in your house. He encourages people to get rid of cardboard boxes used for storage in outbuilding as well as in your house.
