If you ask people who run fairs, it’s never too early to start talking about fair season, which, by the way, is coming up quick. One of those fairs putting out info is the Richmond Free Fair. This year is the 100th consecutive fair in Richmond, and and in celebration, the Fair Book is already out and each exhibitor this year will receive a special t-shirt. Fair books are available at the County Extension Offices in Ottawa and Garnett, Beechner Grain in Richmond and at Patriots Bank in Princeton.

This year’s parade theme is “Wagon Wheels, Ferris Wheels and Beyond” and you can bet there will be some outstanding floats. The Richmond Free Fair is the first of three fairs held in Franklin County and it will be held July 11th through the 13th.
