Say goodbye to toll booths. The Kansas Turnpike will transition to cashless tolling on July 1, 2024. Converting of the roadway system will occur in the early hours of july 1st, and the Kansas Turnpike says it will be a quick process. They say cashless tolling offers a safer, more efficient customer experience while keeping toll rates at some of the lowest of any cashless system in the country. All drivers using the turnpikes will need to get a K-tag. Kansas Turnpike Authority Business Services and Customer Relations Director, Rachel Bell, cited new equipment on the turnpike as a main reason for the state’s decision to go cashless:

So, no more stopping, just drive under the tolling plaza, it will pick up your license plate number, K-Tag information and you will be sent a bill. Applying for a K-Tag is easy, visit driveks.com and sign up and they will have it to you within three to five days. Cashless tolling starts July 1st.
