Many people were concerned about the multi car accident Friday afternoon, June 28th, on 68 Highway east of Ottawa. Fortunately, it looked much worse than it turned out to be. An eastbound Toyota Tacoma, driven by 65-year-old Terri Hower, of Ottawa was stopped waiting to turn into a driveway of a business. She was struck from behind by a Chevy Cruze, driven by 24-year-old Sarah Branson, of Halstead, causing her vehicle to go into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by a Nissan Titan, driven by 33-year-old Robert Miller, of Topeka. His truck then crossed the center line and was struck by a Chevy Silverado, driven by 33-year-old Joshua Hinderliter, of Ottawa, who was traveling eastbound.
Fortunately, all those involved were checked out by Franklin County EMS for minor injuries sustained in the crash, but none were transported to the hospital. Three of the four vehicles involved in the crash were listed as a total loss .
