Renovation work on Old 50 Highway began this week and dozens of people came to the Franklin County Annex to get more information on the project. Public Works Director Jeff Welton says the highway is quite historical.
Welton says four miles will be extensively renovated by a local contractor, and the other 12 miles will receive some repair work to make it last long enough until such a time that more extensive renovation can be done to the entire highway. The project will finish up in October.
